The Recovery Fair at the Classic Car Museum in St. Augustine successfully brought together individuals, families, and organizations to support those recovering from mental health and substance use disorders. As the event manager, I collaborated with the Prevention Unit to staff and raise over $7,000 in donations. These donations paid for the event and a silent auction. Plus, it funded an engaging environment for attendees to learn about resources, hear inspiring recovery stories, and connect with local support networks. We effectively marketed the event through social media, local radio advertisements, and partnerships with over 20 vendors. Hundreds of flyers were distributed to ensure the community was informed and motivated to attend. This comprehensive promotion was instrumental in making the event vibrant and engaging, highlighting the strength of the recovery community and the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health.
